Guide Pompei - Tours in Pompeii

Pompeii, Sorrento (& Positano)

You can choose to visit Positano in the same day or to stay more time in Sorrento.

Duration: 8 hours

Taking a scenic drive you’ll arrive in Pompeii, a Roman resort buried by pumice and volcanic ash in 79 A.D. Your guided walking tour will take you around the excavated areas to admire the city’s thermal baths, beautiful villas with frescoes and mosaics preserved in excellent condition and the Forum, while learning about the lifestyle and habits of a civilization that lived over 1600 years. You can see the reconstruction of the bodies at the exact moment that they were surprised by volcanic residues. The amphitheatre, similar to the Roman Coliseum is the oldest existing today. Timing permitting, visit a cameo and coral factory.

The amalfi coast is a paradise area full of cultural and historical interests and each one of its little towns have been declared World Heritage by the UNESCO. While driving, enjoy the view of sheer cliffs plunging into the Mediterranean Sea and the coast, a row of maritime little towns that lay among citrus and olive plantations. One of those beautiful little towns is Positano.

Positano, a charming pedestrian village built on a hillside leading down to the Mediterranean Sea, full of narrow streets and steps that connect to each other. It’s not surprising to admire beautiful historical sites and unique landscapes. Thanks of its singular climate and a delightful view, Positano has become a preferred destination for romantic travellers. From the Piazza dei Mulini you will start walking downhill to the seashore from where you can experience beautiful beaches with relaxing restaurants and Cafes. Visit the Parish church of Santa Maria Assunta with its large majolica dome, to admire the beautiful icon of the Black Madonna, painted in the XIII century. Positano is famous for its elegant designer boutiques, hand – made leather items, excellent traditional gastronomy and beautiful ceramics.

Have the most pleasant time wandering around the small and touristic city of Sorrento, one of the most outstanding towns in Italy, where you will be able to admire the most beautiful medieval buildings and monuments of Roman and Greek times. The historic centre of the city still shows the orthogonal layout of the streets of Roman origin, while to the mountain, is surrounded by walls of the 16th century. Typical sites are the main square in Sorrento called Piazza Tasso, the 15th century villa, Palazzo Correale, the Basilica of San Antonio and the spectacular views of the bay of Naples from the Marina Grande, a beautiful small harbour and picturesque fishing port. Sorrento is also famous for the high quality shops, typical products, carpets, leather goods, the productions of limoncello liqueur and luxury jewelleries.

Have as much time as you need for wandering through at your own peace.

The guide will be at your disposal for the full day in order to suit your private tour according to your main interests and needs and to give you all the neccesary information and best suggestions about the area.
